Vinaria 2020 International Fair in Plovdiv

Bulgaria is well-known for its wine production. Back in the 1980s, the country was the fourth largest wine exporter in the world. The industry, however, experienced a steady decline after the collapse of the communist party. The Bulgarian wine production has been growing consistently in the last few years, with new producers experimenting and discovering new grape varieties and styles. 

So, it is no surprise that Plovdiv – the second largest city in Bulgaria and an European Capital of Culture 2019, has been hosting one of the most prestigious wine exhibitions in Eastern Europe for  the last 27 years. The International Exhibition of Vine-Growing and Wine Producing “Vinaria” is coming back this year between 19-23 February. 

Each year, the wine festival serves as a platform for businesses from the wine industry to gather together, interact and present new technologies and products. “Vinaria 2019” for example, was a great success with over 130 exhibitors from 11 countries and more than 40 000 visitors from Bulgaria and Europe. 

This year’s International Exhibition of Vine Growing and Wine Producing is expected to be even more outstanding with the few innovations made. You can expect to be immersed in the fantastic atmosphere and to learn more about the magic of the wine industry through the different tastings and master classes. Another important element of the exhibition is the technology zone, which represents the route from the vineyards through the processing equipment to the final storage stage. The businesses will also discuss the modern technologies and innovations to be used as well as the future of the vine-growing and wine producing industry. 

The standard ticket prices for the event are BGN 7 per adult, while if you would like to get a ticket for the entire duration of the even the price is BGN 20. “Vinaria 2020” will open doors on 19th February from 09:00 AM in Plovdiv approximately 140 km away from the Capital City – Sofia.
