Parking in central Sofia
The city centre is divided into paid parking zones, blue and green, with a time limit. You pay by text message or with an app. If your hotel is in the centre, ask about parking in advance, because free spaces are rare during the day.

With a rental car you can easily do a day trip to Rila Monastery, Koprivshtitsa, Plovdiv or the Seven Rila Lakes. In winter the roads to Borovets and Bansko are busy on Fridays and Sundays, so leave early.
