Stara Zagora
About an hour from Plovdiv and just off the motorway. The centre has the remains of the Roman Augusta Traiana forum and a museum built over Neolithic dwellings, some of the best preserved in Europe. It is also a good place for a coffee or an early lunch in the pedestrian streets.
Pomorie
The last town before the resorts if you go north from Burgas. It has a salt lake with a small museum about salt production, and the old town sits on a narrow peninsula with sea on both sides.
Burgas Sea Garden
If you are heading to Sozopol, a walk in the long seaside park in Burgas is a nice first look at the sea before the last 30 minutes of the drive.

Coming back to Plovdiv
Book the return when you book the outward trip, or later from the coast. The driver collects you from the hotel reception at the agreed time. If you leave the coast very early or late at night, that is not a problem: we work 24/7.
